About

I joined the Character Effects team at DreamWorks Animation in early 2018 after my animation studies in San Francisco. Since then, I have spent time designing the look and feel of hair, cloth and foliage motion while developing new tools to help the CFX team achieve the desired look across the different stylized films. My animation film experience begins with How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and continues through and beyond to The Wild Robot.

Visual Effects and Animation is an industry that has been my passion since I first started my studies and is the one thing I always look forward to when I wake up for work. I do it so that I can continue learning new and interesting visual effects techniques as well as having the opportunity to work with the many talented artists in the industry.

My focus as an artist leads me to solving new and challenging problems every day using a variety of tools at our disposal. I use SideFX’s Houdini and Autodesk’s Maya as my two primary FX packages with scripting in Python, Vex and Mel to write new software tools my colleagues and I can use. I have background studies and deep interest in physics which allows me to have a fundamental understanding of the effects I am creating. Also, I have early training in film, helping me understand the subtle storytelling of the individual shot.
